SECTION 4: Employer Services
On-the-Job Training (OJT) By networking with employers (private & public), we are able to develop a customized training program (OJT Contract), our most popular incentive. This program helps employers offset the costs associated with training a new employee by compensating them up to 50% of the training wage. The employer agrees to hire that trainee on a full-time, permanent basis when the OJT agreement ends.
Rapid Response (Help with Layoffs) If your company is facing a layoff due to downsizing or closure, help is available. With on-site and off-site services, employees affected by a layoff can receive help in meeting their employment needs. The delivery of services can be tailored to meet the needs of the employer and affected employees.
Automatically eligible for services, employees affected by a layoff can benefit in many ways: job placement, assessment, supportive services, and help in retraining for a different career. By taking part in rapid response activities, you and your employees can make this difficult time a little easier.
Hire a Youth!
The Youth Internship program is a training program for youth ages 16-21, and is limited to private, for-profit businesses. This program is intended to develop and increase the long-term employability of the youth.
Benefits to the employer include: 100% of the wages paid, at the entry level wage your business pays for the position, up to a maximum of 400 hours (total hours are determined by what the youth will be learning in your business); Workers Compensation Insurance and state and federal withholding costs are paid; costs for uniforms/tools needed by the youth may be partially or completely paid.
