The program goal is to place youth in positive work settings which will teach them the importance of basic work skills, such as punctuality, proper dress, attendance, positive work attitudes, etc. while also offering them a chance to learn valuable work skills that they may use to find future employment.
This program offers a full array of employment and training as well as educational services to eligible area youth.Work experience contracts are written between MPIC and local public and private nonprofit agencies. MPIC will cover payroll and Worker's Compensation payments for the youth for a maximum of 200 hours while they train at your work site. The work site's main responsibility is to develop a training outline, which MPIC will offer assistance with, as well as provide supervision and Supervisors are also responsible for submitting time sheets to the MPIC office. Work site supervisors will complete a supervisor orientation before a youth begins work, and will be given all of the necessary paperwork and information.
